At ISR-Lisboa we had the opportunity to welcome, during the morning of June 22nd, a delegation of senior researchers from the SENAI Institute of Innovation in Manufacturing Systems (ISI-SM), headquartered in Joinville, in the state of Santa Catarina, Brasil, one of Latin America’s most dynamic industrial hubs. The visit is part of an international technical mobility mission promoted by the SENAI Innovation Institutes Network, within the scope of its internationalisation strategy.
The delegation, composed of four specialists in robotics engineering, software systems, and advanced industrial applications, was received by the Board of Directors of ISR-Lisbon, who accompanied the visitors on a tour of the institute’s laboratories. The initiative provided a privileged opportunity for technical knowledge exchange and alignment on shared research directions.
The visit programme included a mutual institutional presentation, an overview of ISR’s main research lines, and a working session dedicated to exploring concrete formats for future collaboration. Key topics under discussion included applied research in robotics and artificial intelligence, technology and knowledge transfer, joint project development under programmes such as Horizon Europe and Erasmus+, as well as researcher mobility between the two institutions.
